We have nominated Imara as our charity this year. Imara offer early intervention support to children, teenagers and families after a disclosure of child abuse.

Set up in 2011, Imara deal with approximately 100 cases that are referred through Nottinghamshire Police each year, working with individuals from the age of four right through to adulthood. Imara work with the individuals for a minimum of 12 months, acting as a single point of contact for issues such as court proceedings, housing, schooling, benefit, career and personal issues.

Our Charity Committee arrange events and fund raising activities throughout the year to help generate donations for Imara with our last successful 'Best of British' themed day raising over £800.

In total during 2013 Imara received nearly £1,800 from XMA charity events.

Imara has been lucky enough to be the chosen organisation for XMA to fundraise for. Without XMA's help we would not have been able to secure premises to work from and now even have a therapy room to see children and families! They have been so generous to us and extremely welcoming - we took along a group of teenagers we work with to their Best of British Day and we all had a great time! Thank you for your continued support of Imara and the work we do. You have made such a huge difference to Imara as a service and to the lives of the children and families that we support.
Tamsin Baldwin, Imara CIC, Executive Director
