Coronavirus Statement Update.
Like all businesses, XMA are concerned about the recent Covid-19 outbreak.
After the announcement by the Prime minister on 12th March we are continuing to follow government advice closely and are primarily focused on ensuring the safety of our staff, customers and suppliers.
The company has a business continuity plan in the event of any significant disruption and will endeavour to keep as near to normal levels of service if a period of quarantine is imposed by the government. Clearly, if our warehouses are closed, this will be more disruptive. We will post updates regularly on our website as the situation alters.
In the meantime to mitigate the risk the following measures as per our business continuity plan are being followed:
- All employees when needed or required will be able to work remotely with our systems via our remote worker IT platform. This includes telephony.
- For staff that normally work in our logistics facilities, specific measures to mitigate the spread of the virus has been enacted. This includes placement of reminder notices on how to reduce the chances of catching the infection as well as making available additional hand sanitisers.
- In terms of stock availability, our Group distributor, Westcoast typically holds 4-6 weeks stock and are looking to increase this using additional warehouse capacity at our new Andover facility.
- We are working proactively with our carrier fleet to ensure that drivers making deliveries into our facilities minimise their contact with our staff (and ours with them) wherever possible.
To minimise the impact of Coronavirus, we are closely monitoring the Dept of Health / Public Health England guidelines at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/wuhan-novel-coronavirus-information-for-the-public and ensuring our business practices fully consider all known risks (such as preventing travel to declared Lock down areas).
In the event of a sustained outbreak in the UK, XMA operate from UK wide multi-site locations with an IT infrastructure that allows office based workers to work from home or alternative locations. Our business functions are spread across different offices to minimise the impact of an outbreak in a specific location and through operating five warehouses across the UK, we have the flexibility to either ramp up storage to non-affected locations or utilise storage and delivery functions of our supply chain partners.
Rest assured we are committed to giving the highest level of service during this time and we will post updates on our website as they become available.
How XMA can help with your Business Continuity Plan?
With the recent advent of the Intel shortage which has been heavily compounded by the spread of Covid-19 creating further critical component shortages, XMA have opened an internal incident desk to help us track manufacturing and supply chain stock. This is in order to assist our clients with the reservation of hardware to help keep the impact of the situation to a minimum.
XMA also have a range of services that your staff can utilise to work from home. This includes bonded stock facilities to ensure you have instant access to machines for new home-workers, lower cost refurbished units for unpredicted spend, licensing programmes to create or bolster remote working and 100 Day free trials on WebEx facilities.
Please contact us at approvals@xma.co.uk if you need to discuss your business needs.
