Print and IT applications in education

The days of the chalkboard are over

The education sector has seen dramatic changes in recent years, and the days of the chalkboard are over. Not only must schools, colleges and universities meet the needs of ‘digital native’ students whilst preparing them to join an increasingly tech savvy workforce, but they also continue to experience tight budget constraints and increasing staff workloads.

Lexmark iSurvey

This year, iGov Survey have once again partnered with Lexmark to examine the extent to which the digital landscape has changed regarding print management strategies within the education sector in our latest research project: Print & IT Applications in Education 2018.

During this report we will, where relevant, draw comparisons to our 2015 research where appropriate and highlight how the landscape has changed since 2015.

The 2018 report examines:

  • Ways printers and multi-functional devices are principally used
  • Level of priority placed on print management and cost control
  • Time spent backing up or scanning hard copy documents
  • Importance of print security and the environment
